Using Dough for Any Sweet and Savory Stuffing
Ingredients
Dough
- Plain flour 2 cup
- Instant yeast 3/4 tbsp
- Milk powder 1 tbsp
- Sugar 1 tbsp
- Salt 1/2 tsp
- Baking powder 1/2 tsp
- Oil 1.5 tbsp
- Lukewarm water for kneading
Chicken Filling
- Oil 1 tbsp
- Onion 1 big
- Bell pepper 1
- Salt to taste
- Red chili powder to taste
- Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
- Cumin powder 1 tsp
- Chicken mince 200 grams
- Thick cream 2 tbsp
Topping
- Beaten egg 1
- Sesame seeds 1-2 tbsp
Preparation
- Dough: In a mixing bowl, add plain flour, yeast, milk powder, sugar, salt, baking powder and mix.
- Add oil and lukewarm water as needed to make the dough. Dough should be soft.
- Keep kneading the dough for 7-8 minutes until smooth.
- Apply oil to a bowl and place the dough in it. Oil the dough as well.
- Cover and keep aside until double in size (30-45 minutes).
- Chicken Filling: Chop onion and bell pepper very finely using a chopper.
- Heat oil in a pot and add onion bell pepper mixture. Cook until the water evaporates.
- Add salt, red chili powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder and mix.
- Add chicken mince and cook until the chicken is fully cooked.
- Turn off the flame and add thick cream.
- Mix and keep aside to come to room temperature.
- Preheat the oven to 190°C.
- When the dough has doubled in size, take it out and deflate using your hands.
- Roll it into a long and thin rectangle and place stuffing length wise.
- Roll the dough into a big roll (watch the video for details) and cut into 3 inch pieces.
- Apply egg on the buns and sprinkle sesame seeds.
- Bake at 190 °C for 18-20 minutes using upper and lower rods until the top is golden.
