Bread Pudding Bars
Ingredients
- Bread crust 5 cups, chopped roughly
- Raisins 1/2 cup
- Eggs 4
- Sugar 1/2 cup [I used both, 1/4 cup white and 1/4 cup brown sugar]
- Cinnamon powder 1 teaspoon
- Vanilla Essence 1 teaspoon
- Milk 2 cups
- Butter to grease the baking dish
Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 180°
- Add the chopped bread crust and raisins to a greased baking dish.
- In a bowl, crack the eggs and add sugar, vanilla essence, cinnamon powder and milk.
- Whisk until well combined and add to the bread crust.
- Mix and allow to stand for 10-15 minutes until all the egg mixture is absorbed by the bread crust.
- Bake in the oven 180°C for 30-35 minutes until the eggs are cooked.
- Take out and cut into bars.
- Serve hot or cold with tea/coffee, tastes amazing both ways, Enjoy!
