Bread Pudding Bars

Ingredients

  • Bread crust 5 cups, chopped roughly
  • Raisins 1/2 cup
  • Eggs 4
  • Sugar 1/2 cup [I used both, 1/4 cup white and 1/4 cup brown sugar]
  • Cinnamon powder 1 teaspoon
  • Vanilla Essence 1 teaspoon
  • Milk 2 cups
  • Butter to grease the baking dish

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°
  2. Add the chopped bread crust and raisins to a greased baking dish.
  3. In a bowl, crack the eggs and add sugar, vanilla essence, cinnamon powder and milk.
  4. Whisk until well combined and add to the bread crust.
  5. Mix and allow to stand for 10-15 minutes until all the egg mixture is absorbed by the bread crust.
  6. Bake in the oven 180°C for 30-35 minutes until the eggs are cooked.
  7. Take out and cut into bars.
  8. Serve hot or cold with tea/coffee, tastes amazing both ways, Enjoy!
