Ingredients
Makes 8 kulchas
- Plain flour 2 cups
- Salt 1 tsp
- Baking powder 1 tsp
- Kalonji. 1 tsp
- Oil 2 tbsp
- Yogurt 1/2 cup
- Water for kneading
- Allow to dough to rest for at least 30 minutes
- Topping: Butter, Fresh coriander, Kalonji
Preparation
- Mix together plain flour, salt, baking powder and kalonji.
- Add oil and whisked yogurt and start adding water to knead and keep mixing until soft dough like aata is formed. Knead for 7-8 minutes for best results.
- Cover and allow to rest for 30 minutes
- Shape into 8 balls.
- Take a ball and press some chopped coriander and kalonji on one side. Roll the ball into oval shape kulcha.
- Cook on medium flame, on a tawa, applying butter on both sides.
