Cabbage Rice/ Patta Gobhi Rice
Ingredients
- Oil 3-4 tbsp
- Cumin seeds 1 tsp
- Rai (mustard seeds) 1/2 tsp
- Bay leaf 1
- Onion 1 small, chopped
- Green chili 1-2, chopped optional
- Ginger paste 1.5 tsp
- Garlic paste 1.5 tsp
- Patta gobhi (cabbage) chopped, 3 cups
- Boiled Rice (made from 1 cup uncooked rice)
- Salt to taste
- Cumin powder 1 tsp
- Black pepper powder ro taste
- Fresh coriander leaves, chopped
- Green chilies 3-4
Preparation
- Heat oil in a wok and add chopped onion, cumin seeds and rai and cook.
- when the onions turn golden, add ginger paste, garlic pate and green chilies. saute until aromatic.
- Now add chopped cabbage, salt, cumin powder and black pepper powder.
- Cover and cook the cabbage on low flame until soft.
- Now add boiled rice and stir everything up.
- Lastly, add fresh coriander and green chilies.
- Give a stir and cabbage rice is ready.
