Cabbage Rice/ Patta Gobhi Rice

Ingredients

  • Oil 3-4 tbsp
  • Cumin seeds 1 tsp
  • Rai (mustard seeds) 1/2 tsp
  • Bay leaf 1
  • Onion 1 small, chopped
  • Green chili 1-2, chopped optional
  • Ginger paste 1.5 tsp
  • Garlic paste 1.5 tsp
  • Patta gobhi (cabbage) chopped, 3 cups
  • Boiled Rice (made from 1 cup uncooked rice)
  • Salt to taste
  • Cumin powder 1 tsp
  • Black pepper powder ro taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves, chopped
  • Green chilies 3-4

Preparation

  1. Heat oil in a wok and add chopped onion, cumin seeds and rai and cook.
  2. when the onions turn golden, add ginger paste, garlic pate and green chilies. saute until aromatic.
  3. Now add chopped cabbage, salt, cumin powder and black pepper powder.
  4. Cover and cook the cabbage on low flame until soft.
  5. Now add boiled rice and stir everything up.
  6. Lastly, add fresh coriander and green chilies.
  7. Give a stir and cabbage rice is ready.
