Chatpati Murmura Nimko

Ingredients

  • Puffed Rice 6 cups
  • Raw peanuts 2 cups
  • Oil 4 tbsp
  • Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
  • Salt as needed (puffed rice and chat masala already contain salt)
  • Red chili powder 1/4 tsp
  • Chat masala to taste
  • Amchur powder 1 tsp

Preparation

  1. In a wok, add 2 tbsp oil and peanuts. Roast on low flame until the peanuts are crunchy and roasted.
  2. Take the peanuts out into a bowl and to the same wok, add turmeric powder and roast for few seconds on low heat.
  3. Add puffed rice and stir well until the turmeric powder is well coated on the puffed rice.
  4. Puffed rice should be super crispy at this stage. If not, roast for a few more minutes on low flame.
  5. Lastly add salt, red chili powder, chat masala and amchur powder and mix well for 1-2 minutes.
  6. Turn the flame off and allow to come to room temperature.
  7. Transfer to an airtight container and store at room temperature up to two months.
  8. Enjoy!
