Ingredients
Pie Crust
- Chicken mince 500 grams
- Onion 1 small, chopped
- Garlic 3 cloves, chopped
- Worcestershire sauce 3 tbsp (or 3 tbsp soy sauce+1 tsp ketchup+1 tsp vinegar)
- Paprika powder 2 tsp
- Coriander powder 1 tsp
- Cumin powder 1/2 tsp
- Salt to taste
- Egg 1
- Breadcrumbs 1/2 cup (or more if the mixture is very soft)
- Some extra breadcrumbs for the pie dish
Mash Filling
- Potatoes 4-6, medium sized, boiled and peeled
- Butter 1/4 cup
- Milk 1/4 cup
- Mustard paste 1 tbsp
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper powder to taste
Topping
- Cheddar cheese 1/2 cup
- Mozzarella cheese 1/2 cup
- Bell pepper 1, chopped (any color)
- Fresh coriander leaves 5-6
Serving suggestion
- Boiled rice
- Green veggies/salad
- Chili ketchup sauce
Preparation
- Pie Crust: In a bowl, mix chicken mince, onion, garlic, worcestershire sauce, paprika, coriander powder and cumin powder, salt, egg and breadcrumbs. Keep aside for 10 minutes.
- While the mince is resting, preheat the oven at 180°C.
- Sprinkle some breadcrumbs in a 9- inch pie dish.
- Press the mince firmly into the pie dish.
- Place in the preheated oven and bake at 180°C, using upper and lower rod for 30 minutes or until the meat is fully cooked.
- Mash Filling: Mash the boiled potatoes with butter, milk, mustard paste, salt and pepper in a bowl. Make sure the mixture is smooth and creamy.
- Pour the mixture in the pie crust and smooth out the top.
- Mix together cheddar and mozzarella cheese and top the pie with it.
- Lastly add chopped bell pepper on top and bake at 180°C using upper rod only until the cheese has melted.
- Take out and garnish with Fresh coriander leaves.
- Serve with rice and ketchup sauce.
