Chewy Chocolate Granola Bar on Stovetop

Ingredients

  • Rolled oats 1 cup
  • Almonds 1/4 cup, chopped
  • Walnuts 1/4 cup, chopped
  • Butter 2 tbsp
  • Brown sugar 1/8 cup
  • Honey 1/8 cup
  • Vanilla extract 1 tsp
  • Mini chocolate chips 1/8 cup

Preparation

  1. In a pan, add oats, almonds and walnuts and toast on low heat for 9-10 minutes until golden and crunchy. Take out on a plate.
  2. In the same pan, add butter, brown sugar, brown sugar, honey and vanilla extract. Mix until all melted and well combined. Do not let it boil.
  3. Now add toasted oats and mix until everything is well combined.
  4. Turn the flame off and allow the temperature to drop from hot to warm.
  5. Meanwhile, line a small square dish with a butter paper.
  6. Now add chocolate chips to the oats and give it a stir.
  7. Transfer the mixture on to the dish and firmly press down with a spatula until nice and firmly set.
  8. Refrigerate for 2 hours.
  9. Take out and cut into bars.
  10. Store in an air tight container in refrigerator for up to3 weeks.
