Chewy Chocolate Granola Bar on Stovetop
Ingredients
- Rolled oats 1 cup
- Almonds 1/4 cup, chopped
- Walnuts 1/4 cup, chopped
- Butter 2 tbsp
- Brown sugar 1/8 cup
- Honey 1/8 cup
- Vanilla extract 1 tsp
- Mini chocolate chips 1/8 cup
Preparation
- In a pan, add oats, almonds and walnuts and toast on low heat for 9-10 minutes until golden and crunchy. Take out on a plate.
- In the same pan, add butter, brown sugar, brown sugar, honey and vanilla extract. Mix until all melted and well combined. Do not let it boil.
- Now add toasted oats and mix until everything is well combined.
- Turn the flame off and allow the temperature to drop from hot to warm.
- Meanwhile, line a small square dish with a butter paper.
- Now add chocolate chips to the oats and give it a stir.
- Transfer the mixture on to the dish and firmly press down with a spatula until nice and firmly set.
- Refrigerate for 2 hours.
- Take out and cut into bars.
- Store in an air tight container in refrigerator for up to3 weeks.
