Chicken Mince and Veg Curry – Qeema aloo phali ki sabzi

Ingredients

  • Oil 3-4 tbsp
  • Onion 1 chopped
  • Cumin seeds 1 tsp
  • Bay leaves 2-3
  • Ginger paste 1 tsp
  • Garlic paste 1 tsp
  • Tomatoes 2, chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • Red chili powder 1/2 tsp
  • Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
  • Chicken Mince 1/2 kg
  • Potatoes 2-3 big, cubed
  • Green beans 1 cup, cut into 1-inch length
  • Garam masala 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander powder 1 tsp
  • Green chilies 3-4
  • Methi (Dried fenugreek) 1 tsp

Preparation

  1. Add oil, onions, cumin seeds and bay leaves to a cooking pot and sauté until soft.
  2. Add ginger and garlic paste and cook until no raw smell left.
  3. Add chopped tomatoes, salt, red chili, turmeric and chicken mince. Cook until the water from the tomatoes and mince is evaporated and the mince is fully cooked (no raw smell of mince remains).
  4. Now add potatoes and green beans. Mix and add 1/4 cup of water. Cover and cook until potatoes are cooked through.
  5. Lastly, add garam masala, coriander powder, methi and green chilies.
  6. Mix, cover again and turn off the flame.
  7. Serve with roti.
  8. Enjoy!
