Chicken Nuggets – Make and Freeze Recipe

Ingredients

  • Boneless chicken 1kg
  • Bread slices 4
  • Salt to taste
  • Paprika powder 1/2 tsp (optional)
  • Black pepper powder to 1/2 tsp
  • Onion powder 2 tsp heaped
  • Garlic powder 1.5 tsp heaped

Coating:

  • Eggs 2 (whisked with 4 tbsp water)
  • Plain flour
  • Breadcrumbs (I used 5 bread slices)

Preparation

  1. To a chopper add 4 bread slices and grind into fine crumbs. Take out and keep aside. These crumbs will be used in nuggets.
  2. To the same chopper, add 5 slices of bread and grind into fine crumbs. Take out and dry roast on low flame until moisture has evaporated and the crumbs turn light golden in colour. Keep aside for coating the nuggets later.
  3. Cut the boneless chicken into small pieces and grind in the same chopper into paste like mince.
  4. Take out in a bowl, add crumbs of 4 bread slices, salt, paprika powder, black pepper powder, onion powder and garlic powder. Mix well.
  5. Line a tray with parchment paper and spread the mince on it (1 cm thickness).
  6. Put it in the freezer for 20 minutes or so until the mince is a little hard.
  7. Now cut out the nuggets using a cookie cutter or apply some oil on hands and shape the nuggets using hands.
  8. Put the nuggets in freezer until completely frozen.
  9. Now take out the nuggets and coat in plain flour, egg mixture and then breadcrumbs.
  10. Deep fry the nuggets and enjoy with ketchup.
  11. Freeze the nuggets up to 3 months.
  12. To cook the nuggets, either deep fry the frozen nuggets (no need to thaw) or air fry at 200˚C for 12-15 minutes.
  13. Enjoy with Ketchup!
