Chicken Tandoori Boti
Ingredients
- Boneless chicken cubes 500 grams
- Ginger paste 1 teaspoon
- Garlic paste 1 teaspoon
- Green chili paste 1 tablespoon
- Lemon juice 2 tablespoons
- Fresh cream 2 tablespoons
- Cheddar cheese 3 tablespoons
- Butter 2 tablespoons (at room temperature)
- Yogurt 2 tablespoons
- Egg white 1
- Salt 1 teaspoon or to taste
- Red chili powder 1 teaspoon (or more)
- Cumin powder 1/2 teaspoon
- Garam masala 1 teaspoon
- White pepper powder 3/4 teaspoon
- Orange food color 1/4 teaspoon
Preparation
- Wash the chicken and remove fat if any.
- Cut the chicken into 1-2 inch cubes.
- In a bowl, add thick yogurt.
- Add fresh lemon juice.
- Add ginger paste and garlic paste.
- Add green chili paste.
- Add butter. Butter should be at room temperature.
- Add dry spices like salt, red chili powder, garam masala and orange food colour.
- Add dry ingredients like salt, red chili powder, cumin powder, garam masala, white pepper powder and orange food colour.
- Add fresh cream.
- Lastly, add cheddar cheese.
- Mix everything well.
- Before adding chicken pieces just taste it and if needed, adjust salt and chili according to your taste.
- Now add the chicken pieces and mix well.
- Cover and refrigerate overnight. If you are short of time then 2 hours would also do.
- After the chicken is marinated, take out from the refrigerator and thread the chicken in wooden or metal skewers.
- Grill them on coals. Enjoy with naan and chutney.
- NOTE: Chicken Tikka Boti can be made in a pan on stove. When done, smoke with a coal. Enjoy!
