Chicken Tikka Boti
Ingredients
- Boneless chicken 500 grams
- Yogurt 2 tablespoons
- Cream 1 tablespoon
- Oil 1/8 cup
- Green chili paste 3 teaspoons (or more)
- Ginger paste 1 tablespoon
- Garlic paste 1 tablespoon
- Lemon juice 3 tablespoons
- Salt 1 teaspoon or to taste
- Garam Masala Powder 1 teaspoon
- Red chili powder 1 teaspoon
- Cardamom powder 1/4 teaspoon
- Orange food color 1/4 teaspoom
- carom seeds (Ajwain) 1 teaspoon
- Cumin seeds (Zeera) 1 teaspoon
- Fennel seeds (Saunf) 1 teaspoon
Preparation
- Wash the chicken and remove fat if any.
- Cut the chicken into 1-2 inch cubes.
- In a bowl, add thick yogurt, lemon juice and oil.
- Now add garlic paste and ginger paste.
- Add fresh cream.
- Add dry spices like salt, red chili powder, garam masala and orange food color.
- Also add green chili paste to it.
- Grind green cardamom, Cumin seeds, carom seeds and fennel seeds to a fine powder.
- Add to the marinade.
- Mix everything well.
- Before adding chicken pieces just taste it and if needed, adjust salt and chili according to your taste.
- Now add the chicken pieces and mix well.
- Cover and refrigerate overnight. If you are short of time then 2 hours would also do.
- After the chicken is marinated, take out from the refrigerator and thread the chicken in wooden or metal skewers.
- Grill them on coals. Enjoy with naan and chutney.
- NOTE: Chicken Tikka Boti can be made in a pan on stove. When done, smoke with a coal. Enjoy!
