Ingredients
Fish marination
- Fish 1 kg
- Fresh lemon rind 3/4 tsp
- Lemon juice 2 tbsp
- Salt 1/2 tsp
Gravy
- Oil 1 tbsp
- Onion 1 big, finely chopped
- Garlic 1 tbsp, finely chopped
- Green chilies 1-2, deseeded and chopped
- Red bell pepper 1, finely chopped
- Tomato paste 2 tbsp
- Chicken cubes 2
- Cumin powder 1 tsp
- Paprika powder 2 tsp
- Water 3 cups (or more as preferred)
- Tomato 1-2 big sized, chopped
Slurry
- Corn flour 1 tbsp
- Water 4 tbsp
Garnish
- Fresh coriander
Preparation
- Cut fish into 1 inch pieces. Marinate with salt, lemon juice and lemon rind. Allow to marinate until the gravy is ready.
- Gravy: Heat oil in a pot and add onions and garlic. Sauté until soft.
- Add green chilies and red nell pepper and sauté for 1 minute.
- Add tomato paste, chicken cubes, cumin powder, paprika powder and water.
- Cover and cook on low heat until water starts to boil.
- Now add fish pieces and again cover and cook for 4-5 minutes or until the fish is cooked.
- Lastly, make slurry by mixing corn flour in water.
- Add slurry to the fish gravy and stir until the gravy is thick and glossy.
- Garnish with fresh coriander.
- Serve hot with boiled rice. Enjoy!
