Ingredients
- Plain flour 1 cup
- Cocoa powder 1/2 cup
- Baking soda 1/2 tsp
- Baking powder 1 tsp
- Salt 1/2 tsp
- Sugar 1 cup
- Oil 1/4 cup
- Milk 1 cup (at room temperature)
- Egg 1 (at room temperature)
- Vanilla essence 2 tsp
Frosting
- Chocolate chips 1 cup
- Unsweetened whipping cream 1 cup
OR
- Cooking chocolate 1 cup
- Unsweetened whipping cream 1/2 cup
Preparation
- Frosting: Melt the chocolate chips and add the whipping cream. Mix until dissolved.
- Put in the refrigerator to let the frosting thicken up.
- Cake: Preheat the oven to 180°C using upper and lower rod.
- Line a baking tray with parchment paper (8×8 inches).
- In a mix bowl, sift plain flour, cocoa powder, baking soda and baking powder.
- Mix and add sugar and salt. Mix again.
- In another bowl, add egg, oil, milk and vanilla essence and whisk well.
- Add this egg mixture to the dry mixture and whisk well.
- Pour into the prepared pan and bake at 180°C, using both upper and lower rods, for 30-35 minutes until the toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to come to room temperature. Pour the cold frosting on top. Enjoy!
Chocolate Craving Cake
