Ingredients
- Thick yogurt 1 cup, room temperature
- Baking Powder 4 tsp
- Plain flour 1.5 cup
- Extra plain flour for dusting
- Oil for deep frying
Coating 1
- Icing sugar 1/2 cup
Coating 2
- Cinnamon powder 2 tbsp
- Sugar 1/4 cup
Preparation
- Whisk yogurt until lump free and add baking powder and plain flour.
- Mix until well combined.
- Cover and allow to rest for 20 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, mix sugar and cinnamon powder.
- In another bowl, add icing sugar.
- Meanwhile, heat the oil at medium to low flame.
- Using extra plain flour, roll the dough into 1 cm thickness and cut out into donut shape, or simply cut out small circles.
- Add one by one to the oil and fry until golden.
- Place the donuts into the cinnamon sugar while still hot. If the donuts cool down, then the cinnamon sugar will not coat the donut.
- Coat the donut holes in icing sugar.
- Enjoy!
