Crunchy Onion Rings
Ingredients
- Onion 1, big size
- All-purpose flour 1/2 cup
- Baking powder 1 tsp
- Salt to taste
- Egg 1
- Milk 3/4 cup or more to adjust the consistency
- Bread crumbs as needed
- Oil for deep frying
Preparation
- Heat the oil in wok on a medium flame.
- Add sifted flour, baking powder and salt in a mixing bowl and mix.
- Add bread crumbs to a separate bowl.
- Cut the onion into 1 cm thick slices and separate the rings.
- Add the onion rings into the flour and coat well. Take out the rings one by one and place in a plate.
- Now add egg and milk to the remaining flour mixture and mix to form paste of milkshake consistency. If it is too thick you can add more milk.
- Dip the rings and the batter, drip off the excess batter and add the ring to the bread crumbs.
- Coat in bread crumbs and immediately add to the wok.
- Fry on medium heat until golden (literally 1-2 minutes).
- Take out and serve immediately.
- Enjoy the crunchy onion rings with the sauce of your choice.
