Dahi baray Recipe (without Baisan)
Ingredients:
- Mong ki daal chilkay wali (Split Green gram) ½ cup
- Maash ki daal (Black gram) ½ cup
- Ginger paste ½ Tsp
- Green chili 1-2
- Salt 1/2 tsp
- Baking soda (meetha soda) ½ Tsp
preparation:
- Soak the lentils overnight.
- Blend them the next morning with ginger paste and green chili along with the least amount of water possible.
- Add salt, baking soda and mix well with a hand mixer or whisk until light in color and fluffy.
- Fry dollops of the mixture over a medium flame.
- Change sides to get an equal brown color on both sides.
- Pour yogurt in a bowl. Add the Vaday. Sprinkle cumin powder, chat masala, mint chutney and imli chutney, mint and salt. Enjoy!
Freezing Instructions:
- Put in a zip lock bag and seal it properly, making it air tight.
- Put in the freezer.
- You can freeze them for up to a month.
- When you want to make dahi bara, just take them out from the freezer, do not defrost and just put them in room temperature water for 5 minutes.
- Enjoy!
Dahi Vada / Dahi bhalla/ Dahi bara
Ingredients

- Salt as per taste
- Baking soda (meetha soda) ½ Tsp
