Ingredients
- Dates 20 small
- Wheat flour 1.5 cups
- Desi ghee (Clarified butter) 2 tbsp
- Cardamom powder 1/2 tsp
- Date syrup 2 tbsp or as needed (or sugar/ honey)
Preparation
- Remove the seeds and soak the dates in 1 cup of water overnight in the refrigerator.
- Next day, blend the dates and water until a smooth paste is formed.
- Dry roast wheat flour until you feel the nutty aroma.
- Add the date paste and mix well.
- Add desi ghee and cardamom powder and cook, stirring constantly until the date-wheat mixture leaves the pan and takes the form of a play dough.
- Allow to cook down a bit until warm to touch.
- Shape into balls and decorate with nuts of silver paper.
- Enjoy!
