Dahi kay kabab (Yogurt cutlets)
Ingredients
- Yogurt 1 cup
- Cottage Cheese 1/2 cup
- Bread slices 4, crumbled
- Green chili 1-2, chopped
- Fresh Coriander 2 tbsp, chopped
- Onion 1 small sized, chopped
- Salt as needed
- Chat Masala 1 tsp
- Garam Masala 1/2 tsp
- Red chili powder (if you want to make it extra spicy)
Preparation
- Place yogurt in a muslin cloth. Bring together the edges and gently press to drain the extra whey.
- Hang the cloth for a few hours (4-5) or put some weight over it.
- Take out the thickened yogurt into a bowl. It should be reduced to half cup and there should not be any extra whey left.
- Use a food processor or a manual chopper to grind the bread slices into crumbs. Add these bread crumbs, cottage cheese and all the other ingredients to the yogurt.
- Mix well and taste, if anything is needed you can add at this stage.
- Apply some cooking oil and shape into cutlets.
- Shallow fry on a medium to low heat until the kababs are golden brown in color and crispy on the outside and soft and creamy inside.
- Enjoy with your favorite dip.
