Fish Tikki

Ingredients

Fish Prep

  • Fish boneless chunks 500 gms
  • Salt 3/4 tsp
  • Black pepper powder 3/4 tsp
  • Green cardamoms 4
  • Cloves 4
  • Cinnamon sticks 2
  • Fresh coriander leaves 8-10 sprigs whole

Other Ingredients

  • Fresh coriander leaves 1 handful
  • Ginger chopped 1 tbsp
  • Green chilies 2-3
  • Onions 2 big
  • Boiled Potatoes 3 big sized
  • Salt as needed
  • Red chili powder 3/4 tsp or to taste
  • Garam Masala 1 tsp
  • Cumin powder 1/2 tsp
  • Chat masala 1 tsp

Frying

  • Egg 1, whisked
  • Oil for shallow frying

Preparation

  1. Place fish in a pot along with salt, black pepper powder, green cardamoms, cloves, cinnamon sticks and fresh coriander sprigs.
  2. Add water to cover the fish pieces and boil for 7-8 minutes until the fish is cooked.
  3. Drain the fish pieces and allow to cool.
  4. Now mash the fish.
  5. Mash the boiled potatoes and mix into the fish.
  6. Fine chop fresh coriander, ginger, green chilies and onion and add to the potatoes and fish.
  7. Add spices (salt, red chili powder, garam masala, cumin powder, chat masala).
  8. Mix thoroughly and shape into tikkis.
  9. Heat oil in a frying pan. Dip the tikkis in egg and shallow fry until golden.
  10. Serve immediately and enjoy!
