Fruity French Toast Bake

Ingredients

  • Wheat Bread or white bread 8 slices
  • 2 Apples, peeled and cut into small chunks (I used one green and one red apple)
  • Peach 1 (optional)
  • Brown sugar 1 cup
  • Corn starch 2 tsp
  • Eggs large 6
  • Milk 2 cups
  • Vanilla essence 1 tsp
  • Teaspoon cinnamon powder 1 tsp
  • Honey for topping
  • Fresh cream for topping

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 170˚C.
  • Cut the bread slices into 1-inch cubes and transfer to a bowl. Add corn starch and brown sugar to it.
  • Peel the apples and peach and cut into small bite-size chunks and add to the bread pieces.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla essence and cinnamon powder.
  • Pour egg mixture into the bread bowl.
  • Give the ingredients a good stir, then pour into a big rectangular greased baking tray.
  • Bake on lower rod for 45 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Enjoy!
