Fruity French Toast Bake
Ingredients
- Wheat Bread or white bread 8 slices
- 2 Apples, peeled and cut into small chunks (I used one green and one red apple)
- Peach 1 (optional)
- Brown sugar 1 cup
- Corn starch 2 tsp
- Eggs large 6
- Milk 2 cups
- Vanilla essence 1 tsp
- Teaspoon cinnamon powder 1 tsp
- Honey for topping
- Fresh cream for topping
Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 170˚C.
- Cut the bread slices into 1-inch cubes and transfer to a bowl. Add corn starch and brown sugar to it.
- Peel the apples and peach and cut into small bite-size chunks and add to the bread pieces.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla essence and cinnamon powder.
- Pour egg mixture into the bread bowl.
- Give the ingredients a good stir, then pour into a big rectangular greased baking tray.
- Bake on lower rod for 45 minutes or until golden brown.
