Garlic Chicken Karahi

Ingredients

Karahi Paste

  • Onion 1 medium
  • Tomatoes 2 big
  • Green chilies 1-2
  • Coriander seeds 1+1/2 tbsp
  • Cumin seeds 1+1/2 tbsp
  • Fennel seeds 1/2 tbsp
  • Garam masala 1 tbsp
  • Red chili powder 1/2 tbsp
  • Garlic paste 1 tsp
  • Ginger paste 1 tbsp
  • Yogurt 1 cup
  • Fresh coriander 1 big bunch

Other Ingredients

  • Chicken curry cut 1000-1200 grams
  • Oil 1/2 cup
  • Bay leaves 2
  • Garlic heads 5
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander chopped

 

Preparation

  1. Put all the ingredients of the karahi paste into a blender and blend into a fine paste using a little water. Keep aside for later use.
  2. In a wok (karahi), add oil, bay leaves, chicken and garlic heads (Should be clean and free of any dirt).
  3. Stir fry on high flame until the chicken pieces are golden brown on the outside.
  4. Add the karahi paste and bring to boil on high flame.
  5. Turn the flame to low, cover and cook for 20 minutes or until the chicken is very soft and tender and the oil has released from the gravy. Adjust the seasoning if needed.
