Hot & Spicy Sauce for Fried Fish

Ingredients

  • Onion 1 medium
  • Ginger paste 1 tsp
  • Garlic paste 1 tsp
  • Chicken cube 1
  • Brown sugar 1 tbsp (add more later if needed)
  • Water 1.5 cups
  • Butter 3 tbsp
  • Chili sauce 3-4 tbsp or more
  • Soy sauce 1 tbsp
  • Vinegar 1 tbsp
  • Lemon juice 1 tbsp
  • Paprika powder 1 tsp
  • Garlic powder 1 tsp
  • Black pepper 1/2 tbsp
  • Red food color 1/2 tsp
  • Corn flour slurry (1 tbsp corn flour mixed with 1 tbsp water)

Preparation

  1. In a blender, add onion, ginger and garlic paste, chicken cube and water. Blend to form a fine paste.
  2. In a pan, add butter and the blended paste. Cook until raw smell of ginger and garlic paste goes off.
  3. Now add chili sauce, soy sauce, vinegar, lemon juice, paprika powder, garlic powder, brown sugar, black pepper powder. Mix and allow to boil for 1 minute on low flame. Add more water if needed.
  4. Lastly add red food color according to how you like the color of the sauce.
  5. Now add corn flour slurry and cook until the sauce is glossy and translucent (about 1 minute).
  6. Take out in a bowl and allow to come to room temperature. Serve with any fried fish recipe of your choice.
  7. Enjoy!
