Hot & Spicy Sauce for Fried Fish
Ingredients
- Onion 1 medium
- Ginger paste 1 tsp
- Garlic paste 1 tsp
- Chicken cube 1
- Brown sugar 1 tbsp (add more later if needed)
- Water 1.5 cups
- Butter 3 tbsp
- Chili sauce 3-4 tbsp or more
- Soy sauce 1 tbsp
- Vinegar 1 tbsp
- Lemon juice 1 tbsp
- Paprika powder 1 tsp
- Garlic powder 1 tsp
- Black pepper 1/2 tbsp
- Red food color 1/2 tsp
- Corn flour slurry (1 tbsp corn flour mixed with 1 tbsp water)
Preparation
- In a blender, add onion, ginger and garlic paste, chicken cube and water. Blend to form a fine paste.
- In a pan, add butter and the blended paste. Cook until raw smell of ginger and garlic paste goes off.
- Now add chili sauce, soy sauce, vinegar, lemon juice, paprika powder, garlic powder, brown sugar, black pepper powder. Mix and allow to boil for 1 minute on low flame. Add more water if needed.
- Lastly add red food color according to how you like the color of the sauce.
- Now add corn flour slurry and cook until the sauce is glossy and translucent (about 1 minute).
- Take out in a bowl and allow to come to room temperature. Serve with any fried fish recipe of your choice.
