Kofta Curry
Ingredients For meatballs:
- Chicken mince (or mutton beef lean/no fat) 500 gram
- Salt to taste
- Chopped coriander 2 Tbsp
- Chopped green chilies 1-2
- Chili flakes 1 Tbsp
- Turmeric powder 1/2 Tsp
- Cumin powder 1 Tsp
- Garam masala 1 Tsp
- Breadcrumbs 1 Tbsp
- Black pepper powder 1 Tsp
- Fresh coriander 2 Tbsp
- Big green chili 1
- Yogurt 1 Tbsp
- Garlic paste 1 Tsp
- Ginger paste 1 Tsp
For masala/gravy:
- Fresh tomatoes (or according to your taste) 4
- Grated onions 3
- Tomato paste/puree 1 Tbsp
- Salt to taste
- Chili powder to taste
- Turmeric powder
- Sugar if needed (to cut down the acidity of tomatoes) 1 Tsp
- Bunch of coriander
- Ginger paste (if you like to add to this type of gravy) 1 Tsp
- Garlic paste (if you like to add to this type of gravy) 1 Tsp
- Oil as needed
- Cumin powder 1 Tsp
Preparation:
- Grind all the ingredients together with the mince.
- Shape into balls.
- Add oil to pan and add chopped onions. Fry until translucent.
- Add ginger garlic paste. Once fragrant add tomato puree, salt, chili, turmeric and cumin powder.
- Grind the tomatoes to form a paste and add to the mixture. Cover and let cook over medium heat.
- Add green chilies and keep stirring to keep from burning.
- Add meatballs. Allow to cook until the meatballs are cooked and the oil separates.
- Garnish and serve hot. Enjoy!
