Lauki Chana Dal Sabzi

Ingredients

  • Lauki 300 grams, chopped into small chunks
  • Chana dal 1 cup, soaked overnight
  • Oil 1/2 cup
  • Onion 1 small, chopped
  • Ginger paste 1 tsp
  • Garlic paste 1 tsp
  • Cumin seeds 3/4 tsp
  • Tomato 1, chopped
  • Water 2 cups
  • Salt to taste
  • Red chili powder to taste
  • Turmeric powder 1 tsp
  • Garam masala 1 tsp
  • Coriander powder 2 tsp
  • Cumin powder 1 tsp
  • Fresh coriander
  • Fresh green chilies

Preparation

  1. Heat oil in a pressure cook and add onion, ginger gralic paste and cumin seeds. fry intil golden.
  2. Add tomatoes, salt, red chilies and turmeric powder and cook until tomaties are soft.
  3. Add lauki and chana dal and 2 cups water.
  4. Pressure cook for 3 whistles.
  5. Let the pressure release and add garam masala, coriander powder and cumin powder, chopped coriander and green chilies.
  6. Serve with roti or rice.
