Mango Milk Barfi

Ingredients

  • Mango Puree 1 cup
  • Saffron strands 5-7 in 1 tbsp water
  • Desi ghee 4 tbsp
  • Green cardamoms 3-4
  • Powder milk 2 cups
  • Sugar 5-6 tbsp
  • Rose petals and pistachio for garnishing

Preparation

  1. Add saffron strands in 1 tbsp water and keep aside.
  2. Peel mangoes and blend them without water into puree. 1 cup puree is needed for this recipe.
  3. Heat desi ghee and add cardamom seeds.
  4. Saute for a  few seconds and add mango pulp.
  5. Saute for a minute or two and add milk powder and saffron water.
  6. Cook at very low heat until the milk smells cooked (4-5 minutes).
  7. NOTE: If milk mixture looks dry and lumpy add 2 -3 tbsp water so that the milk mixture can be cooked properly without lumps.
  8. Add sugar and cook until the mixture leaves the pan and becomes thick.
  9. Spread the mixture in a tray top with rose petals and pistachio.
  10. Cut into circles or square shape. Refrigerate and enjoy!
