Masala Chicken Piece

Ingredients

  • Chicken thighs or any other pieces 1/2 kg
  • Plain yogurt 1/2 cup
  • Lemon juice 2 tablespoons
  • Ginger paste 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic paste 1 tablespoon
  • Gram flour [Baisan] 1 tablespoon
  • Salt 1 teaspoon
  • Red chili powder 3/4 teaspoon or to taste
  • Turmeric powder 3/4 teaspoon
  • Garam masala 2 teaspoons
  • Coriander powder 2 teaspoons
  • Cumin powder 1 teaspoon
  • Chili flakes 1/2 teaspoon
  • Chat masala 1 teaspoon
  • Dried fenugreek leaves 2 teaspoons
  • Kashmiri Red chili powder [optional] 1 teaspoon
  • Oil 3-4 tablespoons

Preparation

  1. Mix everything and apply on the chicken pieces. No need for marination.
  2. In a pot add oil and place the chicken pieces.
  3. Cover the pot and cook on a low flame for 25-30 minutes or until the chicken pieces are cooked properly.
  4. Make sure to check the chicken frequently and add a splash of water when necessary because the masala, because of the gram flour, has a higher tendency to stick to the pot.
  5. Add 3-4 tablespoons of oil in a frying pan and place the cooked chicken pieces. Turn the flame high, cook from both sides until browned.
  6. Dish out and serve. Enjoy!
