Methi Paratha /Fenugreek Paratha

Ingredients

  • Fresh Methi (fenugreek) Leaves 1 cup, chopped
  • Wheat flour 2 cups
  • Gram flour 1 tbsp
  • Green chilies 2-3, chopped
  • Yogurt 2 tbsp
  • Salt 1 tsp or to taste
  • Red chili powder 3/4 tsp or to taste
  • Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
  • Cumin Powder 1/2 tsp
  • Dried fenugreek leaves (optional) 1 tbsp
  • Clarified butter/Oil as needed

Preparation

1.      Remove fenugreek leaves from the stems. Wash the leaves and chop finely.

2.      In a kneading dish add the wheat flour, gram flour, green chilies, yogurt, fenugreek leaves and all the spices.

3.      Mix the mixture using hand and knead it into a soft dough using water.

4.      Cover and let it rest for 30 minutes.

5.      Now shape into balls (7-8) and roll them flat using a rolling pin.

6.      Heat a flat pan (tawa) and place roti on to it.

7.      Apply oil on both sides and cook it (watch the video to learn how to do it)

 

8.      Serve hot with yogurt or pickle and a cup of tea.
