Ingredients
- Boiled potatoes 2 medium
- Chopped onion 1 tbsp
- Chopped bell peppers 2 tbsp
- Corn 2 tbsp
- Dried coriander 1 tsp (or Freshly chopped coriander 2 tbsp)
- Salt to taste
- Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
- Garam masala 1/2 tsp
- Chat masala 1/2 tsp
- Red chili powder to taste
- Breadcrumbs 1 tbsp heaped
Filling
- Mozzarella cheese 2 tbsp
Coating
- Egg 1, beaten
- Breadcrumbs as needed
Preparation
- Mash the boiled potatoes into a smooth mixture.
- Add onion, bell peppers, corn, coriander, salt, turmeric, garam masala, chat masala, red chili powder and breadcrumbs.
- Mix well to form a dough. Cover and allow to stand for 10 minutes so that the breadcrumbs can absorb the excess moisture.
- Roll the dough into balls.
- Flatten each ball, put the cheese in the middle and shape into ball again.
- Repeat for all the balls.
- Heat oil for deep frying.
- Dip the ball in the egg and coat with breadcrumbs.
- Put the ball straight to the hot oil and move on to the next ball.
- NOTE: Do not coat all the balls at once. Keeping them like this might disintegrate them in the hot oil. Therefore, coat each ball and add to the oil.
- Fry in hot oil for 1-2 minutes until the balls becomes golden.
- NOTE: Frying them in a less hot oil or frying them for too long might result in disintegration.
- Enjoy with ketchup!
