Potato Cutlets (Aloo Tikki)

Potato Cutlets

Ingredients:

  • Medium potatoes 3
  • Oil 1 tbsp
  • Onion 1 small
  • Ginger paste ½ tsp
  • Garlic paste ½ tsp
  • Coriander fresh 3 tbsp
  • Mint 1 tbsp
  • Green chilies 2
  • Salt ½ tsp (or to taste)
  • Chili powder ½ tsp 
  • Cumin powder ½ tsp
  • Black pepper powder ½ tsp
  • Red chili flakes ½ tsp
  • Juice of half a lemon
  • Egg for coating
  • Breadcrumbs

 

preparation:

  1. Boil the potatoes, peel and mash them.
  2. In a chopper add fresh coriander and green chilies and chop well.
  3. In a pan, heat oil and add chopped onion, garlic paste and ginger paste. Saute until fragrant.
  4. Add boiled and mashed potatoes, salt, red chili powder, cumin powder, black pepper powder, red chili flakes, the chopped greens and lemon juice.
  5. Mix thoroughly and take off the heat.
  6. Once the mixture is at room temperature shape into cutlets.
  7. Coat first with egg and the with breadcrumbs.
  8. Fry in shallow oil. Serve hot. Enjoy!
