Quick Veg Chowmein
Ingredients
To Boil the Spaghetti
- Spaghetti 1 packet (raw)
- Water for boiling
- Salt 1 tsp
- Oil 2 tbsp
To Make Chowmein
- Oil 2-3 tbsp
- Onion 1 medium, sliced
- Garlic cloves 2, chopped
- Ginger 1 tsp, grated
- Green chilies 1-2, sliced
- Red Bell pepper 1, sliced
- Green bell pepper 1, sliced
- Yellow bell pepper1, sliced
- Cabbage 1 cup, shredded
- Carrot 1, julienned
- Soy Sauce 2 tbsp
- Chili Sauce 3 tbsp
- Vinegar 2 tbsp
- Ketchup 4 tbsp
- Salt 1/2 tsp (or to taste)
- White pepper powder 1/2 tsp
Preparation
- Boil the spaghetti in water with some salt according to the package instructions.
- Once done, take out from the water and run tap water over it to stop the cooking process. Drizzle some oil to prevent them from sticking.
- In a small bowl, mix all the sauces (soy sauce, chili sauce, ketchup, vinegar, salt and pepper) and keep aside for later use.
- In a wok, heat 2-3 tbsp oil and add the onions, ginger and garlic and green chilies. Stir fry until the onions are soft.
- Add the all the veggies (bell peppers, carrot, cabbage) and stir fry and sauté on high flame for a minute, make sure you do not overcook the veggies, its recommended to keep them crunchy.
- Add the boiled spaghetti and the sauce mixture. Toss it for a minute until well combined. Taste and adjust the seasoning if needed.
- Quick Veg Chowmein is ready. Serve it immediately with ketchup or any other sauce of your choice. Enjoy!
