Stretchy Naan
Ingredients
- Plain flour 1/2 kg
- Salt 1 tsp
- Baking powder 1/2 tsp
- Instant yeast 1 tsp
- Sugar 1 tsp
- Luke warm water 1 cup
- Egg 1
- Oil 3 tbsp
Preparation
- In a mixing bowl, mix plain flour, salt and baking powder. Keep aside.
- In a cup, add warm water, yeast and sugar. Mix and allow to stand for 10 minutes or until the yeast blooms and you see froth on the water.
- Add egg and oil to this yeast water and mix.
- add this to the plain flour mixture and knead into soft dough, adding more water (luke warm) as needed.
- Knead for 7-10 minutes into a smooth dough.
- Cover and allow to rest until double in size (35-40 minutes approximately).
- Deflate and shape into 6 balls.
- Place balls in a tray and cover again for 10-12 minutes or until the balls double in size.
- Roll the ball like roti and cook on tawa as you cook roti.
