Ingredients
- Water 1 cup
- Milk 1/2 cup
- Instant yeast 1 tbsp
- Honey 2 tbsp
- Melted butter 2 tbsp
- Plain flour 3 1/2 to 4 cups
- Salt 1 tsp
- Some melted butter for brushing the dinner rolls
Preparation
- In a microwave safe bowl, add water and milk. Microwave for 40 seconds until warm but not hot.
- Add yeast, honey and melted butter to the milk mixture.
- Give a quick stir and keep aside to allow the yeast to bloom.
- After about 5-7 minutes the mixture will be frothy.
- In kneading bowl, add 3 1/2 cups of flour and 1 tsp salt. Mix and add yeast mixture to it.
- Start mixing. Knead for about 6-7 minutes until the dough is super smooth and lump free.
- The dough should be soft to touch but not sticky. If it is, add a little more flour.
- Shape the dough into a ball and apply some melted butter (or oil) over it.
- Place in a bowl and cover for about 30 minutes or until the doubles in size (it might take less or more than 30 minutes depending on the temperature in your kitchen.
- After the dough has risen, deflate and cut into 16 pieces and roll each piece into a ball.
- Place in a greased rectangle place the balls and cover with a cloth for 15 minutes.
- Meanwhile, preheat the oven at 180°C.
- Place the dinner rolls in the oven and bake for 15-17 minutes at 180°C or until the tops are golden.
- Take out and apply some butter with a brush.
- Allow the dinner rolls to come to room temperature before serving.
- Enjoy!
