To a mixing bowl, add yeast, sugar, milk powder, egg, oil and warm water.
Whisk well until lump free.
Add plain flour and knead to form a smooth dough.
Cover and allow to rise until double in size (30-45 minutes).
Roll the dough into 1/2 cm thick round sheet.
Topping: Put the cheese along the edges of the round dough sheet and fold the ends inwards to create a stuffed crust. Please watch my video for full demonstration.
Put the remaining cheese in the center of the dough. Top with zaatar and drizzle some olive oil on top.
Brush the crust with whisked egg
Bake the fatayer in a preheated oven at 200°C for 10-12 minutes using upper and lower both rods.
