Author:
Naush
Ingredients
dough – makes 12 regular sized rolls
Plain flour 3 cups
Instant yeast 1/2 tbsp
Melted butter 85 grams
Milk 300 ml
lukewarm
Ingredients for Filling:
Kishmish
Raisins 3/4 cups
Milk 60 ml
Brown sugar 1 tbsp
Cinnamon powder 1 tsp
Topping:
Honey
Instructions
Dough: Add plain flour and instant yeast to a mixing bowl and mix.
Add melted butter to the flour and gently mix.
Add lukewarm milk to the flour and knead for 7-10 minutes into a soft and smooth dough.
Cover and allow the dough to rise until double in size.
NOTE: I did not add any sugar with yeast....so yes, yeast can work even without sugar 😊
Filling: Add kishmish, milk brown sugar and cinnamon powder to a food processor and make a smooth thick paste. Keep aside.
When the dough rises, take out of the bowl on to the countertop and deflate using hands.
Preheat the oven to 180°C.
Divide the dough into 2 parts.
Roll one part into a thin sheet using a rolling pin and apply half of the kishmish filling paste on the sheet leaving the sides.
Fold all sides, cut and shape into 6 rolls. Please watch the video for the full demonstration.
Repeat with the second part of the dough.
Place 6 rolls in a baking tray lines with a parchment paper.
Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for 20-25 minutes. Brush with honey as soon as the buns are out of the oven.
Enjoy!
