Matar Pulao /Peas Pilaf

Ingredients
Rice 2 cups
Peas 2 cups
Oil 4-5 tbsp
Cinnamon stick 1
Green cardamoms 2
Cloves
6
Star anise 1
Cumin seeds 1 tsp
Onion 1 small
sliced
Ginger paste 1 tsp
Garlic paste 1 tsp
Water 3.5 cups
Salt to taste
Black pepper powder to taste
Green chilies 3-4
Instructions
Wash and soak the rice for at least 30 minutes.
Heat oil in a pot and add cinnamon stick, green cardamoms, cloves, star anise, cumin seeds and onion.
Sauté until the onions are soft. Add ginger and garlic paste and sauté until aromatic.
Add Peas and water. Bring to a boil.
Drain water from the soaked rice and add to the peas.
Allow to cook until rice absorb all the water.
Put the rice on dum for 10-14 minutes.
