Boil chana dal until just done. Do not over-cook otherwise it will become mushy. Drain and keep aside.
Heat oil in a pot and add onion, garlic and ginger paste. Sauté until soft.
Add blended tomatoes and chopped tomato, oregano, basil, salt, red chili flakes and tomato paste. Cover and cook until raw smell of tomatoes is gone. Add peas and cook on low until peas are done.
